My Teaching Practicum Video
Brief Intro
This video aims at observing how the theories provided by Vygotsky, Piaget, and the four stages by Erickson are applied in salvadorean toodler, early and middle childhood.
In sum, I could say that both Vygotsky's and Piaget's theories are applied in avery single children under every environment. The physical, cognitive, and psichosocial development is possible even they are from El salvador. They can percieve the things are in their lives according to the influence of the society in which they are.

ReplyDeleteWell, you have done a valuable research about these children. I could see that you are very nurturing and like children, how they are and behave with you. Let me tell you that I was caugth by a moment in wich you perform a study of Piaget's Conservation Task. I love it so much, I was wondering if one my classmates will do it, and you did! Yes, according to what I observed, and you as well, Andy is in the preoperational stage, since the actual point was that preoperational children when asked to point or say, in your case, which glass has more liquid, the child says to the tall glass. The failure in this study shows that not only centration but also an inability to mentally reverse actions happens in preoperational children. I could see that the oldest girl ( I am sorry I do not remember her name) was still thinking about her answer, maybe she was reflecting. What do yo think? Was she reflecting or she was avoiding her answer?
I really enjoy also, how you prepare activities to the viewer, I was able to see that they are physically and cognitively developing smoothly.

ReplyDeleteWhat I could observe is that Nicole was not only thinking but also was observing what I was doing; however, she was observing what her brother, Andy, was going to say before giving her answer.
I think that it happens because of the Vygotsky's Thoery; when he states that children learn by the context in which they are.
In this specific case, both theories could be applied by reasoning their behavior at the time they were performing the tasks I have been prepared!
